you said "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts", and i agree. but the quality of the parts surely has to be considered when calculating the value of the whole.

my intention is to create pieces that initiate free play; components that have an ambiguous function which are part of a system that promotes and encourages various possibilities and unexpected outcomes.
